Current Ski Conditions
Updated: Wednesday, January 14, 2026
We are currently: OPEN
We are OPEN, and skiing is rising like a phoenix. The temperatures today will top out near 40, thus softening up the snow giving us maybe some corn snow today? Snow cover is adequate in most cases, but you might want to break out your rock skis (if you have some) to avoid scratching up those ski bottoms. The road is in good shape. We will be doing some sanding of the icy parking lot later in the morning, but watch your step there, please.
We are actually planning to have a high school (MMU and CVU) ski race this afternoon at 3:00, so the race course has been groomed and trackset. The racers will be using the dog loop, so please NO DOGS TODAY.
That's it for now—happy Skiing!!
Dave Brautigam, President
Camel's Hump Nordic
Dog Policy:
DOGS ARE WELCOME ONLY WITH CANINE SEASON MEMBERSHIP. Please remember to keep your dogs under control at all times, have pooper scoopers ready for use, and only take dogs on the dedicated dog loop.
And as a reminder, season pass purchases cushion our financial situation when the snow is fickle, and the Camel's Hump Nordic season pass is as good a bargain as you'll find out there. Camel's Hump Nordic is a participant in the VSAA reciprocal pass program that gets you a free day of skiing at other areas when you have a season pass at Camel's Hump Nordic. You can purchase your season pass here.
Note: Adults (ages 13-69) can pay the $15 trail fee online! There is usually wi-fi at the hut so that you can Scan-Pay-Ski by scanning the QR code at the Kiosk with your smartphone. We accept Paypal, Venmo, and Apple Pay for online payments!
You'll receive timely conditions updates and be able to join in the online discussions with other skiers.
